Frequently asked questions

How does the free week work?
If every one of your active habits is on track, you become eligible for a free week. The claim window is tied to your own renewal date — the weekly cycle that started when you first subscribed, not a fixed day like Monday. It opens about two days before your renewal and closes roughly a day before it, so you get about 24 hours to claim. We send a notification when the window opens, and a second reminder partway through if you haven't claimed yet. Tap "Claim your free week" inside that window and your next renewal is $0. The week you just paid for is not refunded — the reward always applies to the next billing period. The window has to close before your renewal because Apple and Google process the charge slightly ahead of the renewal time; a claim made too late lands on the following cycle instead.
What counts as "on track"?
Drift uses a moving average over the period you choose (day, week, month, or year). For a habit you're cutting down, you're on track when that average is at or below your daily-equivalent target. For a habit you're building up, it's the other way round — on track means at or above it. Either way a single bad day doesn't disqualify you; the average is what matters.
Can I have multiple habits?
Yes. You can track as many habits as you like — smoking, alcohol, vaping, caffeine, social media, or custom. For free-week eligibility, all of your active (non-paused) habits must stay under target.
What if I need to take a break?
Use the Pause feature on any habit. Paused days are excluded from your moving average and from streak calculations — they don't count as misses. A pause lasts a maximum of 7 days: after that the habit resumes tracking automatically, so you don't have to remember to unpause it. You can pause again straight away if you need longer. Note that pausing a habit does not pause your subscription, which keeps billing as normal.
How do I cancel my subscription?
iOS: Open Settings → tap your name → Subscriptions → Drift → Cancel Subscription.

Android: Open Google Play Store → tap your profile → Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions → Drift → Cancel subscription.

Cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing period. You retain access until then.
Can I get a refund?
All purchases are processed by Apple App Store or Google Play. Refund requests must be made through them — we cannot issue refunds directly. Apple refund instructions | Google Play refund instructions
Why didn't I get my free week notification?
A few possibilities: (1) check that push notifications are enabled in your device settings, (2) make sure every active habit was on target — one habit off target is enough to miss the week, (3) if the claim window opened during your quiet hours, the notification is held until the window ends, which can eat into your time to claim. You can always open the app and claim from there without waiting for a notification. If none of these apply, email us and we'll investigate.
Does Drift sync between my iPhone and iPad?
Yes. Sign in with the same account on any device, and your habits and entries are synced through our servers. The same applies to Android tablets and phones.
Is Drift a medical app?
No. Drift is a habit tracking tool. It is not a medical device, treatment, or substitute for professional advice. If you struggle with substance dependence or other health issues, please consult a qualified healthcare provider.
How do I delete my account?
Email support@ardaventures.me from the address associated with your account. We will permanently delete your account and habit data within 30 days. (We're working on an in-app delete button — coming soon.)
My moving average looks wrong after editing past entries
The chart updates immediately based on your edits, but the official record (used for free-week eligibility) is snapshotted daily and not retroactively recalculated. This protects you from accidentally losing a free week you already earned. If something looks really off, email us.
